Reminiscent of a Mediterranean village, Vintner’s Inn is a California Green Lodging-certified resort, sprawled across 98 acres of lush vineyards and artfully landscaped grounds with courtyards and fountains.
Located in Santa Rosa, California, the 5,000-square-foot, full service, luxury spa experience, River Vine Café, and the new 34 rooms and suites, introduces a master renovation plan of more than $17 million, which began late 2016. The new rooms and suites and Vi La Vita Spa provide a resplendent wine country retreat in the heart of the Russian River Valley.
The inn now features five new villas, each positioned for tranquility and privacy. The new two-story terraced villas are designed in a V-court style, allowing every room to enjoy beautiful vineyard views from either private patio or balcony spaces. The Vineyard View Deluxe Suite is the jewel of the new collection, offering 940-square-feet of space for guests to entertain and indulge, including an outside private patio with plush outdoor furnishings, a dining area with wet bar and an outdoor private, soaking tub where guests may bathe under the stars.

This new indoor climbing facility features 50-foot climbing walls along with bouldering terrain, a yoga studio, fitness equipment, and community spaces and lounges. OneStudio D+A (formerly MBA Architecture + Interior Design) worked with Clark/Sullivan to design a facility that meets the owner’s desires to become a hub in the Reno Tahoe area for climbers to practice, meet, and learn more about this exciting sport, while remaining within the owner’s budget and being responsible stewards of our environment.

The Moana Aquatic Center was designed to offer a unique fitness, swimming, and community experience. The project goal was to create an elegant mixed use aquatic and fitness facility, completely new in concept a scope to the area.
We concentrated heavily on the experience of arriving to the site and the impression of each visitor or participant as they moved throughout the building. Large expanses of glass around the perimeter and within the roof maintained a connection to the outside. The running track was elevated above the main pool to connect activities visually, and spectators were offered a double-sided view into the two pool areas. Unique seating cubbies, or “Fishbowls”, were provided for small gatherings, snacks, studying, or rest. The property also incorporated a fitness area and outdoor running path to promote diversity in exercise.
The Moana Aquatic Center would be a one-of-a-kind facility for Reno. Overall, it was important to the design and success of the facility that the building not just be functional, but offered people new and interesting experiences.

Summit Sierra was one of five initial primary care practices that utilized a new clinical space prototype. The prototype was developed in workshop sessions attended by Renown design and administration staff, OneStudio’s (formerly MBA Architecture + Interior Design) architects and interior designers, and Renown doctors and nurses.
The waiting area is focused on patient comfort, offering a relaxed, yet upscale lounge experience. Exam rooms were enlarged to provide patients more space for their families and allow check-out procedures to be performed in the room. The same mixture of wood materials and bright colors from the waiting area are integrated into the exam rooms, creating continuity and a comforting and relaxed patient experience.
Back of house spaces allow providers and nurses to work collaboratively, while maintaining privacy and security from patient corridors and spaces. The new approach of looking at work flow has been received positively by medical and administrative staff.

OneStudio D+A (formerly MBA Architecture + Interior Design) designed a whimsical, playful space to administer much needed medical treatment to children during a possibly scary, difficult time in their lives. In the Infusion suite, each treatment bay has a unique and colorful identity highlighted by a lightbox image with corresponding floor and wall treatment.
In addition to the main treatment suite, support spaces included exam and procedure rooms, waiting areas, registration, and offices.

The colorful and comforting atmosphere of the 1,400 sf Children’s Imaging facility was designed to provide a calming and comforting environment for pediatric patients and their family members. Playful colors and graphics bring a sense of fun to what would otherwise be a scary experience for a child. Easy-to-clean surfaces and materials create a safe and healthy space for patients, while functional treatment rooms and office spaces enable efficiency for providers in their daily tasks. Care was given to lighting design throughout the facility, to not only enhance patient experience but aid medical professionals in their work. A color-changing LED light system around the perimeter of the ceiling offers children the ability to select their favorite color or a variety of them during a treatment session. Updated technology and imaging systems help ensure better, shorter treatment times.

The potential of the Hard Rock Lake Tahoe as a premier attraction for both locals and tourists drove our design intent. Each space is full of architectural surprises, touches of nature, blasts of color. A two-story bar and restaurant opens the South end of the property up to an outdoor plaza, offering views of Heavenly Ski Resort. The casino floor is full of life, color, texture. A simple, clean Oyster Bar opened to the casino floor, sits next to a classy and earthy Steakhouse. The hotel registration and guest rooms are crisp, fresh. Throughout the property each venue takes a unique approach to blending the Hard Rock aesthetic with the Lake Tahoe vibe.
